Based in London, Norwegian born Cecilie Harris grew up in a family of photographers and spent her youth following the work of fashion and portrait photographers, before moving to London, and turning her lens onto those whom she admired. Cecilie Harris finds inspiration in adolescence and the journey to adulthood; between her photographs a narrative of intimacy is drawn.
Her models’ sense of ease before the lens can be felt, and the contours and shadows captured skillfully, often in black and white, help form a genuine connection with the viewer. This is something that can be seen across her wide body of editorial, menswear fashion, and portraiture work, and notably in her personal collection of instant photographs. Cecilie’s work has been picked up by clients such as Carhartt, palmer//harding, and Diesel.
Cecilie Harris is editor–in–chief of Boys By Girls magazine. Founded in 2011 to showcase her own work, the magazine cultivated an international readership, and has since expanded to feature the work of like–minded photographers and stylists such as Danielle Levitt and David Nolan.
